Fall Trends

With school starting up again and the beach becoming less crowded, we probably don't need to remind you that summer is coming to an end. What does that mean? Simply put, fall is right around the corner. Or is it autumn? Fallumn? Regardless of what you call it, we're all about to step into a new season. For some of us, this means big changes. We're talking to you teachers, students, and hair stylists! Wait... Stylists?! That can't be right, can it? Well, we're glad you asked! You see, as hair stylists we understand that as the seasons change, so do the most popular fashion trends. That's why we're here to give you a look at some of the most trendy hair styles that you can expect to see in fall 2018. Rather than give you a long list of things to do with your hair that, let's face it, you can find anywhere on the internet, we'll be breaking everything down into three categories: Haircuts, styles, and colors. We encourage you to try at least one of these. Or for the adventurous, possibly all three! The Studio salon has always believed in encouraging our clients to express themselves through the power of hair. Join us as we preview this Fall's most popular hair trends:

Haircuts. Sometimes we want to get the hair that's already on our head styled, with minimal use of scissors. Other times, it may be an amazing idea to cut more off than you're used to. For those of you that have been rocking long hair your entire life, we understand that this may sound scary. But just know that in 2018, women are more confident than ever when it comes to making drastic changes. Having said that, it's important to note that the bob is currently in style, and will become one of the more popular looks this coming fall season. Plus, the bob isn't confined to one end-all-be-all look. There are many ways to pull it off, from short and shaggy, to straight hair that ends just below the jaw and above the shoulders. It's a hairstyle that is both modern and retro at the same time, and well worth looking into.

Styles. Not up for removing most of your hair? That's fine too. But speaking of retro, another style making the rounds is the 70s Swoop, which involves longer bangs and hair that curls inward past your shoulders. And while we're talking about bangs, this is a great time of year to try them out. Not only do they allow you to keep the majority of your hair long, they also work with so many different hairstyles. From baby bangs to side-swept, they allow a near-infinite amount of options. If bangs aren't your things, then perhaps you should try the side-part low pony which involves parting your hair at the side before tying the back into a ponytail. We've written an entire blog about beach waves in the past, and once again it's worth bringing up because they are a popular year-round style, fall included. Lastly, there's the wet look, which may be one of the more surprising trends that you can expect this coming season. This is for those of you that like the way your hair looks fresh out of the shower. With the help of the right product, which our staff at The Studio will gladly assist you in finding, you can rock that style without having to constantly soak your hair in water throughout the day. Colors. Now that you're caught up on the popular haircuts and styles of the upcoming fall season, let's get to the colors. Once per year, like clockwork, autumn rolls around and women everywhere choose to dye their hair in a variety of colors. So which colors are expected to be in style this year?

Hair Color by Aveda

Red is always popular and this year is no exception. With so many different shades of red to choose from, we recommend copper for a more subtle look or cherry-red if you really want to catch the attention of others. Brown is right up there with red as far as popularity during the fall, with chestnut being a good choice. You can also color your hair in layers. The orange-blonde look is becoming more and more common and you'll be seeing it a lot within the next few months. A lot of it comes down to your natural hair color and what works best. Sometimes using a single color on all your hair works best, while in other cases you'll find that a good mix will achieve the desired results. Our friendly and knowledgeable stylists are more than willing to go over all the best options so that we can best determine which color or colors are right for you! As summer comes to a close, we hope that you've made it one to remember. Now it's time to begin a new chapter. As fall moves closer, we encourage you to try something new and exciting with your hair. That could mean going all out and cutting most of it off, trying a new style, or adding some color. Or do all three! Now that you know what hairstyles are expected to be most popular, we look forward to seeing you in our salon so that we can work together and make sure that you have everything you need to flaunt that new style and show it off to the world.
